Develop

Whether it’s through projects, mentorship or formal training, development is a top priority.

Choose your path

We offer two distinct paths for students and new graduates. Gain some experience with an internship or kickstart your career with our Career Accelerator Program.

Every year, we welcome an average of more than 2,000 interns who work on challenging projects, develop personally and professionally, and experience firsthand what it’s like to work at TI.

You won’t be taking coffee orders or filing random paperwork. We assign our interns meaningful work from day one, and we are always amazed by what they achieve.

For interns who go above and beyond, we invite them back for another internship, or extend an offer to join our Career Accelerator Program for new college graduates.

When you join TI as a recent graduate, our Career Accelerator Program will give you the tools you need to succeed:

  • Accelerated ramp-up: Our program provides you with the development tools and training you need to get up to speed quickly and start making a difference.
  • Function-specific technical training: You’ll learn the skills to succeed in your chosen field.
  • Professional development: We’ll help you develop your interpersonal skills and leadership potential.
  • On-the-job learning: You’ll get hands-on experience solving real-world problems.

Engineering career tracks

If you are driven to create something new or make something better, explore a career in engineering at TI.

Design schematics of analog circuits in various wafer process technologies, simulate the design to ensure correctness and verify the layout implementation meets performance requirements.

Solve specific design challenges and provide technical solutions to customers that will ultimately go into consumer products like smartphones, PC peripherals, personal medical devices, electric cars, e-bikes and much more. You’ll also design functional evaluation modules and optimized TI Designs using either current TI products or products in development.

Architect, develop and create differentiated/complex and state of-the-art intellectual property (IP), central processing units (CPUs) and system-on-a-chip (SoCs). Utilize industry leading tools and methodologies to do register transfer level (RTL) design implementation, verification, validation and physical implementation to ensure that design meets all functional and quality specifications. Learn the complex SoC development process and interact with various functional teams spanning systems, design, software and applications. Enable silicon ramp to production in customer systems.

Maintain, enhance and install advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment in the fabrication facilities where TI creates its world-changing technologies. You’ll gain practical, hands-on experience solving equipment problems and implementing solutions to support our 24/7 year-round manufacturing operations.

The Field Applications track of our Field Applications & Sales Training (FAST) rotation program is designed to establish you as a technical TI expert with customers and internal teams, and to teach you how functional product characteristics correlate to system-level requirements. Demonstrate your technical competency on part selection, systems, implementation and debugging to prepare for a career as a Field Application Engineer.

Experience various roles that support building and semiconductor wafer fab facilities. You’ll design, install and operate more than 150 utility systems that include chemical, gas, electrical, water, cleanroom, HVAC and controls.

Improve manufacturing capacity, cost and bottlenecks by understanding the interdependencies between manufacturing process flows, people and equipment. Develop analytical models to help predict and improve the factory’s overall cost, cycle time and quality.

Sustain, develop and continually optimize the methods with which TI manufactures its world-changing technologies. You will gain the practical experience of working within our fabrication facilities to solve the challenge to continually improve cycle times, reduce raw materials, and enhance product yields to support our 24/7 year-round manufacturing operations.

Partner with TI’s internal businesses to design and develop innovative semiconductor packaging technologies focused on miniaturization and integration in the competitive automotive and industrial semiconductor industry.

Showcase technical expertise by driving process and device improvements through characterization, test, design of experiments, data analysis and simulation. Communicate effectively across multiple teams to drive schedules and meet deadlines while leading technical discussions as a subject-matter expert.

Use your technical expertise to understand customers and TI’s sales teams’ current and future needs, as well as identify key marketing objectives to attract, engage, and grow the customer base in target regions and markets. With thorough understanding of competition, roadmaps and technology trends, you will execute a wide range of marketing activities, including overall marketing strategy, portfolio marketing, growth initiatives and opportunity management.

Work with TI teams, external partners and customers around the globe to test and troubleshoot issues and analyze semiconductor product performance in a range of conditions. From test software and hardware development to product debugging and test optimization – you help ensure our products are consistently competitive and leading in the market. Touch the full life cycle of our innovative IC products and gain exposure to how we design, build and support them.

Work hands-on with a variety of teams to solve and prevent technical challenges involving product requirements, circuit design, silicon manufacturing, integrated circuit packaging and customer support for the full spectrum of our products, from new product development to manufacturing and post-production optimization.

Join us in making our cutting-edge embedded hardware more accessible to our customers through platform software and development tools, combining modern programming skills with deep computer architecture knowledge – where hardware meets software. You’ll collaborate with our marketing, systems and application engineering teams as part of the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering, design, implementation, test, debug, demo development, through deployment.

Challenge yourself and define our next great product. In the systems engineer role, you’ll have the chance to develop advanced analog and digital chips and systems products from concept to mass production; complete advanced high speed IC design cycles; and participate in a variety of systems design activities. You’ll work directly with TI business units and customers to define product roadmaps, and you’ll assess and negotiate development trade-offs with design teams and customers.

TSEs (Technical Sales Engineers) are responsible for the customer strategy and development of an overall business plan. They combine their technical skills with selling and marketing skills in order to maximize customer identification, with the goal of winning all integrated circuits on a given project. TSRs leverage relationships and business acumen to convert won integrated circuits into revenue and business for TI.
