Engineering
We offer you the opportunity to design technologies that will create a better world of technology with our customers.
Engineering roles
If you are driven to create something new or make something better, explore a career in engineering at TI.
Here’s your chance to be on the leading edge! Our applications engineers are technical experts focused on industry-leading digital, mixed signal and analog products. You’ll partner with our customers to determine their major design challenges and work with them to create innovative solutions. You may also spend hands-on time in a TI lab tackling problems to support our products and customers.
Challenge your mind and color outside of the lines. You’ll put your technical expertise to the ultimate test in this dynamic position. As a design engineer (analog, digital, mixed signal, RF), you’ll architect new TI products and make our customers’ visions a reality. You’ll define, design, model and verify integrated circuits, with the opportunity to work in a lot of exciting areas and with industry experts.
As a Facilities engineer at TI, you’ll be directly responsible for building utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. TI Facilities operates over 150 different utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
The Field Applications track of our Field Applications & Sales Training (FAST) rotation program is designed to establish you as a technical TI expert with customers and internal teams, and to teach you how functional product characteristics correlate to system-level requirements. Demonstrate your technical competency on part selection, systems, implementation and debugging to prepare for a career as a Field Application Engineer.
TI’s manufacturing engineers are technical leaders who bring the company’s breakthrough innovations to life by manufacturing products that change the world. In this role, you’ll lead engineering process optimization efforts that help us achieve fab cycle time goals, improve yield performance, and automate, install, and maintain the world’s most advanced semiconductor tools and equipment. You’ll get to be hands-on, problem solve, and work with the best in the world.
As a packaging engineer, you’ll partner with business owners to design and develop the state-of-the-art in high-density, 3D advanced semiconductor packaging technologies. You’ll also resolve packaging issues, document packaging requirements, and participate in cross-functional teams in support of product qualification and production. Finally, you’ll help to meet reliability and yield requirements, design testability, and test coverage.
Create and enable production capability for all products. Own responsibilities for device manufacturability, production stabilization, and change control through the life cycle of the product. Design product qualification plans, including hardware design, execution of plan, and data analysis.
Be part of the world’s next great innovations. Our product marketing engineers use their technical expertise to identify ways to attract, grow and engage customers. You’ll help to define and shape our product roadmap by understanding our customer’s needs and determining the best ways to differentiate our products against the competition. You’ll develop broad and targeted promotions through both the industry’s most visited website, TI.com, as well as through the industry’s largest sales and field applications force.
Want to make technology work in ways it’s never done before? As a software engineer, you’ll design embedded software and development tools that will be used to develop products. You’ll write code that will tell chips how to operate in revolutionary new ways. Additionally, you’ll work closely with business partners and customers, as well as with TI’s marketing, systems and applications engineering teams, to collaborate and solve some of our customer’s toughest problems.
Want to know about the latest cool products before anyone else? Our technical sales engineers combine technical expertise with selling skills to develop and deliver innovative solutions to our customers’ biggest technology challenges. You’ll manage customer relationships and understand TI’s broad product portfolio, ensuring TI technologies are in the world’s next great innovations.
Define testability strategy, develop test hardware and test programs to characterize and qualify integrated circuits on Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) during new product development, with the final goal of delivering a robust automated lowest cost solution for production environment.
Challenge yourself and define our next great product. In the systems engineer role, you’ll have the chance to develop advanced analog and digital chips and systems products from concept to mass production; complete advanced high speed IC design cycles; and participate in a variety of systems design activities. You’ll work directly with TI business units and customers to define product roadmaps, and you’ll assess and negotiate development trade-offs with design teams and customers.
If you’re looking for an interesting and challenging position with a wide range of responsibilities, you’ve found the right job. As a validation engineer, you will thoroughly characterize an analog/mixed signal semiconductor product by stressing it in all conditions. You will use various post-silicon lab and automated test engineering (ATE) platforms to validate that a product meets datasheet and internal specifications so that it works robustly in the customer’s system.
